Proton Renovate is a powdered sanitiser formulated to remove non-rinsing films from drinking glasses. These films while unseen, cause considerable problems with reduced beer/lager head retention, and with reduced lacing of the head froth down the glass side.
In recent years clean toughened drinking glasses also did not support beer gas break out resulting in poor head retention. Publicans and Brewers began to etch the bottom of the glass to encourage beer/lager gas break out. Over time this etching becomes covered with film, slowing gas breakout, Proton Renovate restores the etch.
Proton Renovate will :
Remove greasy or non-rinsable films from glassware, and so help the glass keep the head.
Remove the chemicals used in new glass manufacture, especially the mould release agents.
Restore etched-base 'widget' glassware, and help improve the head with gas breakout or 'bubble'.
Removes beer and stout residues from glasswash machines, and sanitises the interior tank, wash system and drain.
Depending on the glasswash machine effectiveness including the use/non-use of detergent, drinking glasses could be renovated anywhere from weekly to every two months, our suggestion is monthly. Usage instructions are included on the tub label.
Some publicans find a small daily dose of Renovate, approx. a half scoop (50mg) will maintain glasses and machine in a very satisfactory condition, this is particularly the case where the wash water is not very hard/limey, and the machine's rinsing system is working properly.
